This is a hymn that I have often sung to myself out loud and in my too-loud mind when I've gone through my own trials None of my trials could compare to the hymn writer (Horatio Spafford) whose business burned down and his children drowned... But yet we all suffer. There is no belittling our own suffering.  This song both challenges us to to question, "Is it well?" and beckons us to proclaim, "It IS Well with my soul."
