These are hydrangeas... sort of. You know how you look at something and it starts to remind you of something else??

When I was a little girl my Grandma Engle always dressed up in polyester suits (either with a skirt or pants) and full-on jewelry! She'd have a ring, necklace, clip-on earrings and ALWAYS a rhinestone broach on the lapel of her jacket. I loved to play with the jewelry in Grandma's jewelry box and don her long beaded necklaces. The minute I added the gold to the edges of these hydrangeas I could picture Grandma's broach collection and that amazing jewelry box.
